Karim Hanna with his family outdoors

It all begins with faith and family.

Faith and family come first. I am a Family Medicine physician with specialization in Clinical Informatics. I see patients of all ages in Tampa, Florida, with the goal of serving others through medicine.

What do I do?

Clinical Practice

I started at USF in 2017. I work in primary care at USF and Tampa General Hospital, seeing patients of all ages.

Medical Education

I work with medical students at various levels and completed the UNC Faculty Development Fellowship. I'm involved in course and curricular design and serve as the Founding Program Director of the USF-TGH Family Medicine Residency.

Consulting Efforts

With a background in clinical informatics and quality improvement, I serve as a clinical advisor for Chronius Health. I build patient-care model systems and am open to consulting projects.

The Hanna Habits

In 2021, I was again selected by the graduating class for commencement. I shared seven pieces of advice for physicians:

  1. "Don't forget, you're wearing a white coat"
  2. "When shaken, Light up"
  3. "Take more shoes off — off others' feet"
  4. "Go out to lunch & Be discipled"
  5. "Visit the dying"
  6. "Live a life where you're not the point"
  7. "Help your neighbor move their couch"
